Singin' in the Rain!

I am behind on my blogging, yes I know, but I keep forgetting to stay on top of it at least once a week.  I will try to be better, we'll see.  Where do I begin, I have been in the school for two whole weeks now and I am definitely learning and benefiting from this experience.  I also am having some interesting questions asked about how I get to school everyday or when am I going back to Africa, no lie these are true stories, but I am having a wonderful time every day.  I can also say now that I am officially a tea drinker, which means I will need to get a kettle or as I have seen here a pot that is connected to an warmer and all you have to do is switch the button, it boils the water in a minute or two and its ready to mix with your tea.  I will also have to invest in some more mugs and maybe some tea cups.  I do feel that I need to try more kinds of tea, but at the moment I am drinking what is available, which I need to find out what kind it is.  I have determined as well that I now enjoy cappuccinos and find myself needing to have one whenever I go out and about, which I had two yesterday (both delicious)! Off topic here, but back to school I am having a blast experiencing the differences and similarities between schools here and back home (surprisingly it does not seem like there are a lot, but quite a few).
And yesterday, me and Beka went into London for the day to see the show Singin' in the Rain!  It. was. amazing! And what better way to end our day in the city, since all day it pretty much rained.  So to go into London we took the Oxford Tube (a bus) to London and that is how we got back as well.  Then once we finally arrived, we decided to hop off the bus since there was quite a lot of traffic on Knightsbridge, then walked to an underground station to go to Covent Garden. Once we got off, which was incredibly packed to get out of the station we thought it would be quicker to take the stairs over waiting for the lift.  BAD IDEA, if I ever see a stairs sign over taking a lift or escalator, I WILL NOT. I will wait to take the lift or escalator, I thought the stairs were never going to end.  Once out of the station and getting there a bit later than we thought we would, decided it was time for some grub. So we found a Preta Manger and had lunch.  I enjoyed the most delicious baguette sandwich and even more delicious chocolate chip cookie. Then once we had food in our stomachs it was time to explore! We walked around the area until we came across the Covent Garden Market.  This was a very cool place! There were stalls set up with merchants selling different items, shops, food stalls, bars, and restaurants.  We explored different shops and the stalls.  Then continued through another area that had even more stalls set up.  There were quite an assortment of items that were being sold, for instance this one stall was selling CDs turned into clocks as well as other items that were made into clocks (quite interesting).  Then after exploring the entire area we went to explore more of the parts of Covent Garden and Soho.  Looked at different shops and went and explored the Britain Museum!  That place is extremely large and you could spend days at this museum.  Then we went and found our restaurant where we were having dinner before the show.  We ate at Kitchen Italia.  It was delicious food and the atmosphere was awesome.  It was kind of a family style setting, you can be placed at table with other people to eat your meal.  Also the dessert was even more delicious!!! Then of course it was time for our show.  Our seats were on the top balcony and surprisingly it felt kind of small for a theatre, but it was a fun atmosphere.  The show was amazing and now it makes me want to watch the movie, which will have to wait until I get home, but still I will watch it at some point.  Then it was quite the experience getting back from the theatre, minus a busy underground station, a walking around trying to find the bus stop and then having to hurry to catch the bus.  Then catching another bus back to the house, the wind was howling and the rain surprisingly was starting to die down.  Then finally back to the house.  It was quite the week.  And this week is going to be hopefully as good as this past week was.  I also know I need to add my pictures to my post, which I will eventually do... at some point.
